In line with its keenness to form strong and constructive partnerships with many active community institutions, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) has signed a co-operation agreement with Aspetar Hospital, the latter becoming its official medical partner.

The agreement aims to reinforce aspects of co-operation and joint efforts, and take advantage of both entities’ capabilities to achieve common goals and ambitions.

Aspetar Hospital is considered as a world leader in the field of orthopaedics and sports medicine. It has an elite category of doctors, surgeons and researchers, and is the first-of-its-kind facility in the Middle East. It was opened in 2007 and was officially approved in 2009 as a center of excellence in sports medicine by football’s world governing body FIFA.

Approved as a reference center by the Gulf Co-operation Council Health Ministers’ Council in 2013, Aspetar provides comprehensive high-level medical services with the highest international quality standards and works through special programmes to improve athletic performance of players by providing the necessary medical support in Aspetar Hospital, Qatar Football Association (QFA), QSL and clubs in addition to many other services provided through the National Sports Medicine Programme.

Commenting on the partnership, QSL CEO Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan said:

Aspetar Hospital is considered as one of the most important sports medicine facilities regionally, continentally and globally, and we’re proud of its vital role, initiatives and programmes. We, in the QSL, have been keen on signing this partnership in order to enhance aspects of co-operation and we look forward towards achieving the common goals for the benefit of both sides. I also take this opportunity to thank the Ministry of Public Health and Aspetar Hospital for their efforts and services provided during this crucial period.”

On his part, Aspetar Hospital CEO Dr. Abdulaziz Jeham Al Kuwari said:
