Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Ahli.

“It will be difficult because Al Ahli are playing under a new coach, who has a different style. He is experimenting with different ways in order to find the best possible combination.

“For us, we gain confidence after every game. I think we will win the next game and get three points.

“I would like to say that I don’t feel any difference because we are working on a long-term project and we look forward to be among the top teams. We have seen Al Sadd, Al Duhail and others, who have players that we cannot bring in, so we decided to work on developing the levels of our players. I think we have succeeded in that.

“I expect we will have the best players during the next three years and I am very happy to work in Al Arabi. I believe that the stability that we are having now will enable me to build a strong team for the future and fulfil the ambitions of team management and fans.

“I was happy with the positive results and the performance that the team showed at the beginning of the season. When you start the season in this way, everyone expects you to achieve more successes. When they don’t come, frustration will creep in among players and fans. The players must maintain the quality of performance.

“Aron (Gunnarsson), who was out of action with an injury for long, is back in training, but I am not sure if he will play against Al Ahli. The club management is working in a systematic way and the team’s future is bright,” said Hallgrimsson.
