Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Shahania.

“Al Shahania have improved and are putting up good performances. Sometimes, they do not win points and that is normal in football. They played a good game against Al Sadd.

“As far as we are concerned, we played a big game against Qatar SC and lost two points, but we deserved to win. Before that, we won against Al Sadd and thus collected four points from two games. The draw with Qatar SC was like a loss, we want compensation by winning against Al Shahania. We respect the opponents greatly, but we will play to win this match.

“Mohamed Benyatou is a great player, he plays well and may be able to give us victory in the next game if he is more lucky after he missed a penalty in the last game against Qatar SC.

“If we calculated the number of points that we lost, we could have been in a better position. Had we beaten Qatar SC, we would have been in the fifth place. We had difficult circumstances such as Ceballos’ injury and we lost the services of five Under-23 players because of their duty for the Qatar Olympic team. Despite all that, we have been doing well,” said Marquez.
