18:10 kick-off at Al Ahli Stadium
Al Ahli face Al Sadd in Round 3 (Group A) of the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup at the Al Ahli Stadium on Saturday.
Al Ahli are third in the group with three points. They are on same number of points with Al Sadd, but are placed higher on better goal difference (-1 as against Al Sadd’s -2).
Al Ahli, who replaced Spanish coach Ruben de la Barrera with Carlos Hernandez last week, defeated Umm Salal 2-0 in Round 1, but suffered a 1-4 defeat at the hands of group leaders Al Rayyan.
The Brigadiers have scored three goals while conceding four so far, whereas Al Sadd scored four goals and conceded six.
Al Sadd are fourth in the standings. They lost 1-5 to Al Wakrah in the opening round, but beat Al Shahania 3-1 last week. The Wolves had climbed from last to fourth spot with that victory.
Al Sadd will sorely miss the services many players who are currently on national duty.
