Al Sadd face Al Shahania in Round 2 (Group A) of the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup at the Al Khor Stadium on Friday.

Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan and Al Ahli all have three points, but Al Wakrah are topping the group on better goal difference (+4 as against Al Rayyan’s +3 and Al Ahli’s +2).

Al Sadd and Al Shahania are placed last and fifth respectively in Group A, after losing to Al Wakrah (1-5) and Al Rayyan (0-3) respectively in the opening round. Umm Salal are the third team yet to open their account in the group.

Both teams will miss the services of players who are on duty for their countries during the break.

This is a good chance for the sides to make a breakthrough, so they can stay in contention for quarterfinal berth.

Al Sadd are fourth in the QNB Stars League standings with 15 points after 10 rounds. They have two games in hand, against Al Arabi and Al Khor, deferred due to their AFC Champions League commitment.

Al Sadd lost 0-3 to Qatar SC, while Al Shahania held Al Rayyan to a creditable 2-2 draw in Week 10 of the QNB Stars League.

However, despite the draw, Al Shahania stayed at the rock bottom of the table with four points.
