Al Rayyan face Al Ahli in Round 2 (Group A) of the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup at the Al Ahli Stadium on Friday.

Al Rayyan are second in the group with three points. Al Wakrah are placed first as they have a better goal difference (+4 as against Al Rayyan’s +3). Similarly, Al Ahli too have three points, but are positioned third in the group on goal difference (+2).

Al Rayyan defeated Al Shahania 3-0, while Al Ahli beat Umm Salal 2-0 in the first round of Ooredoo Cup.

Al Rayyan and Al Ahli had faced off in Week 5 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League, with the former winning by a 3-1 margin.

Al Rayyan, who are occupying the second position in the QNB Stars League table with 22 points, will miss some players who will do duty for their countries during the break. And captain Rodrigo Tabata, who is recuperating from an injury, is a doubtful starter. He had missed their Week 10 game against Al Shahania, which ended in a 2-2 draw last week.

Al Ahli, who lost 1-2 to Al Wakrah in the QNB Stars League last week, will also miss players doing international duty.
