Al Gharafa face Qatar SC in Round 2 (Group B) of the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup at the Al Ahli Stadium on Saturday.

Qatar SC are topping the group with three points that they earned from their 4-0 victory over Al Sailiya. Al Gharafa are second, followed by Al Duhail, Al Arabi, Al Khor and Al Sailiya in that order.

Al Gharafa, Al Duhail, Al Arabi and Al Khor have one point each, while Al Sailiya have yet to open their account.

In fact, Qatar SC were the only team to have registered a victory in Group B. Al Khor drew 1-1 with Al Arabi and Al Duhail drew 2-2 with Al Gharafa in the other matches.

Al Gharafa are the reigning champions. They beat Al Duhail 1-0 in last edition’s final. Al Gharafa had triumphed in the previous season as well.

Al Gharafa have done well so far in this season’s QNB Stars League as well, as the tournament has taken a long break after 10 weeks of action. The Cheetahs are third in the standings with 20 points, behind Al Duhail (26) and Al Rayyan (22).

Al Gharafa beat Umm Salal 2-0 and Qatar SC defeated Al Sadd 3-0 in Week 10 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League.

It was Al Gharafa’s sixth victory, while Qatar SC completed a hat-trick of wins.

Al Gharafa will miss some players, who are on national duty, so more youngsters are in for a chance.
