Al Sailiya and Qatar SC face off in a 2019-20 season Ooredoo Cup Round 1, Group B match at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.

Group B also has Al Khor, Al Arabi, Al Duhail and Al Gharafa.

Both sides played against each other in Week 4 of the QNB Stars League and Al Sailiya beat Qatar SC 1-0.

Al Sailiya are currently eighth in the league table with seven points and Qatar SC 11th with three points.

Al Sailiya had refreshed their squad ahead of the 2019-20 season by recruiting many players, but could not make a strong start to their campaign in the QNB Stars League, where they finished a creditable third last season.

So, Al Sailiya’s Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi has an opportunity to test their young players in the Ooredoo Cup as part of preparing them for tougher tests.

Similarly, Qatar SC recently had a change at the helm of technical staff, Wesam Rizik replacing Spanish coach Carlos Alos Ferrer. It brought them instant success as they beat Al Khor in Week 5 of the QNB Stars League. However, they lost the next match to Al Ahli.

Wesam will also be keen to try out various combinations as they look to move away from the danger zone in the league.
