Qatar SC registered a convincing 4-0 victory over Al Sailiya in a 2019-20 season Ooredoo Cup Round 1, Group B match at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.

New recruit Kayke Rodrigues led Qatar SC’s charge by knocking in two goals, in the 29th and 67th minutes. Musa Haroon had given The Kings the lead in the 21st minute and Elmehdi Barrahma rounded off the tally in the 83rd minute.

Group B also has Al Khor, Al Arabi, Al Duhail and Al Gharafa.

Qatar SC, who recently had a change at the helm of technical staff with Wesam Rizik replacing Spanish coach Carlos Alos Ferrer, thus compensated for their 0-1 loss to Al Sailiya in Week 4 of the QNB Stars League.

Al Sailiya are currently eighth in the QNB Stars League table with seven points and Qatar SC 11th with three points.

Al Sailiya had revamped their squad ahead of the 2019-20 season by recruiting many players, but The Peregrines, coached by Tunisian Sami Trabelsi, have yet to settle into their stride.

On the other hand, Qatar SC seem to be making steady strides under Wesam, a former Qatar international and Al Sadd midfielder.

Qatar SC dominated throughout, as the scoreline suggested, and struck two goals in either half to underline their superiority.
