Al Khor and Al Arabi played out a 1-1 draw in a 2019-20 season Ooredoo Cup Round 1, Group B match at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.
Tiago Bezerra put Al Khor ahead in the 59th minute. Pierre Lasogga equalised for Al Arabi in the 75th minute.
Both Al Khor and Al Arabi were aiming to collect full points and thereby start their campaign on a winning note, but the deadlock remained at the final whistle.
Group B also has Al Sailiya, Qatar SC, Al Duhail and Al Gharafa.
Al Arabi had beaten Al Khor 3-1 in Week 6 of the QNB Stars League before it took a break due to international commitments.
Both teams were without the services of those who are doing duty for their national teams and also the injured players who are undergoing treatment.
Al Arabi are currently second in the QNB Stars League standings with 13 points, one point adrift of Al Duhail, but it was Al Khor, who are 10th with four points, who created more opportunities throughout their Ooredoo Cup game.
Ahmed Hammoudan and Bezerra led the charge for The Knights against The Dream Team.
After a barren first half, Al Khor kept attacking the more in the second session too. They were able to take the lead, but Al Arabi managed to draw parity and share the spoils.
