Al Ahli take on Umm Salal in a 2019-20 season Ooredoo Cup Round 1, Group A match at the Al Ahli Stadium on Friday.

Both teams are strong contenders in Group A, which also includes Al Sadd, Al Wakrah, Al Shahania and Al Rayyan.

Al Ahli and Umm Salal will look for a positive result and thereby start their campaign in style.

Al Ahli will miss the services of Abdullah Al Ahrak and Abdulrahman Mohammed who are doing duty for the Qatar national team. Both sides will also miss some players who are with the Qatar Olympic team.

Al Ahli have in their ranks players such as Nabil El Zahr, Abel Mathias and Majed Mohammed, while Umm Salal boast of the likes of Yannick Sagbo, Adil Rhaili and Murad Naji.

Al Ahli are sixth with nine points and Umm Salal ninth with five points after six weeks of action in the QNB Stars League, which has taken a break due to FIFA Days.
