Al Wakrah coach Vicente Moreno spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 16 match against Al Sadd.

“The players have worked very well this week to prepare for the match in the best possible way. We know we are facing the league leaders, so we understand that the match will be very difficult for us. However, we must have confidence in ourselves, believe in our ability to win and be ambitious.

“Although the recent victories have raised expectations, we must only think about the next match. Our focus must be entirely on that encounter. If our fans are happy, we are happy too, because we play for them. The return of some of our absent players will help us achieve positive results and we have suffered from several absences over the past month,” said Moreno.

Al Wakrah player Abdelkarim Hassan said, “I am delighted at returning to the team after an absence of approximately 11 months. Al Wakrah’s preparations for the Al Sadd match were no different from those for any other game.

“We understand the importance of this match for us and it holds the same significance for Al Sadd. Both teams will be eager to continue their winning streak in this challenging encounter.”
