Al Sadd will clash with Al Shamal in exciting and concluding match in Week 12 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The kick-off is at 6.30pm.

The result would carry a lot of significance to both teams as defending champions Al Sadd seek a strong start to the second leg of the league and also after the recent Arabian Gulf Cup in Kuwait, where many of their players represented the Qatar national team, while Al Shamal will be keen to do their best to come out with a positive result.

Al Sadd are currently in second place in the standings with 22 points, ahead on goal difference from Al Ahli (third), while Al Shamal are in fifth place with 16 points.

Al Sadd, under their Spanish coach Felix Sanchez, took advantage of the break to undergo intensive training, during which they played three friendly matches, against Al Qadsia of Kuwait, winning 6-1, then had a 1-1 draw with Kazma of Kuwait and finally a 4-0 win over Khaitan SC of Kuwait.

Al Sadd recently announced the termination of contract with their Colombian player Mateus Uribe by mutual consent.

On the other hand, Al Shamal enter the second leg having signed a contract with Spanish coach David Prats Racero, who previously worked as assistant of former Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez.

Al Shamal played one friendly match during the break, against Al Orobah of Saudi Arabia, which had ended in a goalless draw.

In the first leg of the league championship, Al Shamal had scored a 2-1 win over Al Sadd and would look to emulate that performance against the distinguished rivals.
