Al Shahania coach Alvaro Mejia  spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 6 match against Al Duhail.

“The upcoming match is important against Al Duhail, the leaders, and after the last match against Umm Salal and the loss in which we conceded 4 goals, we entered into mental preparation for the match against Al Duhail. The last match was excellent in terms of performance, but we have to maintain the performance during the 90 minutes and this is what we will work on against Al Duhail.

“We respect Al Duhail, but we play with confidence in ourselves and our players, and what I hope from the players is to provide 100 per cent performance.

“The team’s goal now is to focus on the upcoming match, fight on the field, and give the players their best in order to get the three points,” said Mejia.

Al Shahania player Alhassan Koroma said, “The players are ready for the Al Duhail match and there were some changes in the Umm Salal match, we were ahead in the score and lost, the Al Duhail match will be strong, but we are not afraid and confident in ourselves and we will play a great match and give 100 per cent of our performance.

“My message to the fans is to believe in the team’s capabilities and in getting the three points, and we will give our best in order to improve the performance.”
