Qatar SC and Al Gharafa will face off in a strong match in Week 5 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Khalifa International Stadium on Sunday, September 22, 2024. The kick-off is at 8pm.
Battles between these two teams have always been exciting and competitive, and each side is capable of achieving victory and collecting the three points given their technical capabilities.
Qatar SC are currently ranked 11th with three points – on goal difference from Al Arabi (10th) and Al Khor (ninth). The Kings have won one match in the league so far while losing three.
They recorded their first league victory by beating Al Shamal 1-0, but suffered another reversal in Week 4 against Al Ahli, being beaten 1-0. This was also the team’s first match in the league under the technical leadership of Moroccan coach Youssef Safri, who has returned to manage Qatar SC.
Al Gharafa have a tally of five points and occupy the sixth place with a goal difference over Al Wakrah (seventh). The Cheetahs played a 1-1 draw with Al Shamal in the previous round.
Al Gharafa also played their first match in the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Elite against Iran’s Esteghlal last Monday and lost 0-3.
Both Al Gharafa and Qatar SC would therefore look to iron out flaws and regain the winning touch in the league championship, and to find momentum ahead of their upcoming strong competitions.
Each team has top-quality players, especially in the attack and it is certain that coaches, Safri of Qatar SC and Pedro Martins of Al Gharafa, will both work towards finding the best available line-up of players for the clash.
