Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 6 match against Muaither.

“Our team is working well with the same spirit and I know that our last match against Al Sadd was abnormal, but I am sure that our players will react and we will appear in our usual form. This is what I expect from our players who are working well and we do not have many problems. I am waiting for the return of Homam (Al Ameen), Ahmed Alaaeldin and Yousef from the national team.

“Regarding the injuries in the team, we still have Mustafa Essam, Nasser Al Anzi. The rest of the players are in good condition and Farid has returned from injury.

“An important match for us and we need to win and we know that the Muaither team is very tough because they have a good coach and a good philosophy and they are a physically strong team. In the front line, they have dangerous players and we know how they play. We have analyzed their style of play and we know what we must do, and although Muaither are coming from the Second Division, I had seen them already ready for the First Division and they have good players. I look forward to the presence of our fans,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa’s young player Jassim Fahd Al Zaraa said, “The preparations were normal like for any match. We hope to present ourselves in a better way than what we presented against Al Sadd and that the match will be the beginning of a new beginning for us as players.

“Muaither are a good team and have shown strong levels in the first five matches, and we have a great ambition to achieve victory.

“The support of our fans is important and a great motivation for the players to perform well and achieve victory.”
