Al Ahli coach Pedro Miguel spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 6 match against Qatar SC.

“Since I took over the team, I have worked to transfer my culture of playing hard and making an effort to win matches, which is something that runs in my blood as a coach who loves competing for points and achieving victory with all seriousness. This is due to my belief that football always requires belief in abilities and confidence in achieving the goal against any team on the field.

“The match against Qatar SC will not be easy. They are a strong opponent, but what matters the most to me is the strength of my team and its unity on the field, and performance as one system, which is what I worked on in the past period with the players.

“The break helped us develop performance and raise the level of the team as a group for a special stage in which Al Ahli hope to score victories and satisfy the club’s fans,” said Pedro Miguel.

Al Ahli’s German star Julian Draxler said, “Since my arrival, I found all co-operation from my team-mates. I got to know about the players quickly, so I did not find difficulties in adapting to the team. And I am happy about it.

“I work very seriously with the coach and fellow players, and I have found in Al Ahli all the atmosphere and conditions that allow me to provide my best.

“I realize the importance of victories for the team, especially since we faced some difficulties and lost a number of matches at the beginning of the league, so we will work to provide the best levels in order to continue the victories, especially after the win over Muaither in the last round of the league.”
