Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 2 match against Al Sadd.

“Al Sadd are one of the strongest teams in all of Asia, not just the Expo Stars League, but that does not mean that the match against them will be surrendered, stressing that it is necessary for the team to provide the technical level that guarantees it achieving its goal in the match, which is victory.

“We respect Al Sadd as a strong and distinguished team, but in return we also respects our capabilities and must appear at the best technical level to achieve victory. Al Ahli players also have their technical capabilities that must appear in such matches.

“In view of the last match against Al Duhail, Al Ahli played a good second half and will have to improve performance more and present a good level befitting the match and achieve the team’s goal by obtaining the three points,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli player Idrissa Doumbia said, “I am happy at playing in the Expo Stars League and joining the ranks of Al Ahli. Since my arrival, I found co-operation from the management, technical staff and players. I will make sure that this is reflected on my level on the field.

“I was not satisfied at the technical level in our last match against Al Duhail, but we will make every effort to be at our best level in the Al Sadd match. Al Ahli will be different in the next match in view of the keenness of players for good performance and good results for the team.”
