Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Wakrah.

“I apologize for the performance and the result of our last match (0-4 loss to Al Markhiya) and I take full responsibility. At the same time, I have great confidence in our ability to return to achieving positive results and to be in the position we deserve.

“A decisive and important match awaits us against an organized and stable team like Al Wakrah for more than one season that plays modern football and are capable of making a difference. I am also sure that the reaction on our part will be appropriate and we seek to overcome the current stage with determination and insistence on compensation.

“We must learn from any setback and come up with lessons that serve us in correcting our mistakes and work with optimism and confidence because we are able to shoulder the responsibility even though it is great.

“We have had enough time to correct mistakes and work to strengthen our ranks to achieve a positive result. I renew the call to our loyal fans because their presence is very important. It is no secret that most of our achievements were made, thanks to the fans’ support for the team and now we have young players who need support and encouragement. We have an integrated system with which we move confidently towards achieving our goals,” said Safri.

Qatar SC player Moataz Majed said, “All teams go through periods of fluctuation in level and we have now made our preparations to face Al Wakrah in a very positive atmosphere, thanks to the coach’s guidance and solidarity. We will be able to score victories again.

“Our match with Al Wakrah is important and requires focus and effort to achieve a positive result. For us, players, our only goal is to win match points and make our loyal fans happy.”
