Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 15 match against Al Sailiya.
“Our team lost two important matches, from which we could have scored six points, against Al Wakrah and Umm Salal, but I must confirm that we respect all teams we are facing and we will enter the Al Sailiya match in order to win. We must not make the same mistakes that we made.
“Previously, we were working with the players to improve performance, and in the Al Sailiya match, a number of players will not play due to different circumstances.
“There are new players in Al Sailiya and we do not know how they will play, but our focus on preparing our players will be the most important thing for us. In the first leg, it was not an easy match and Al Sailiya had several chances that they could have translated into goals. Yes we have absences, but those who play will compensate for them.
“I hope Al Duhail are in the first place with the same number of matches as Al Sadd. Our players are always motivated to collect points and they have a winning mentality, although we know that being in the first place now is not the right thing because of the difference in the matches between us and Al Sadd,” said Castro.
Al Duhail goalkeeper Salah Zakaria said, “We have a big match against Al Sailiya, who are looking to improve their position in the standings, and certainly the match will not be easy for us.
“I have great confidence in my team-mates and in their ability to achieve a positive result during this match. The victory we managed to achieve in the previous match is an important motivation for us.”
