Al Khor coach Winfried Schafer spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Shamal.

“Our upcoming match against Al Shamal is important and difficult at the same time. We started preparations after the Al Gharafa match which we lost and it was difficult. We know that we faced a problem in the Al Gharafa match and we must correct the mistakes we made last week when we play against Al Shamal.

“We will play to win. Our goal is to win and get the three points. All players must provide 100 per cent of their level and play aggressively and fiercely. We have to think long and hard and know what we must do on the field to be ahead of Al Shamal. If we lose a ball, we must fight to get it back again.

“We must put in our minds that Al Khor are the best side. We must give off everything we have to win and the team will be fine if we do that,” said Schafer.

Al Khor player Enagi Elsadiq said, “We play with team spirit and with heart. We made mistakes in the Al Gharafa match, but we must forget that and work hard to correct them so that we are fully prepared to face Al Shamal.

“No team is without mistakes or weaknesses. But by working together with the team coach and the technical staff, we will overcome the mistakes and present a match worthy of taking Al Khor past Al Shamal. Our spirits are high and my fellow players are excited to get the three points.”
