Al Arabi coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Markhiya.
“Al Markhiya is a good team that has presented a good image so far and has earned the respect of everyone in terms of result and performance. The match will be important for us, and our motto is always the next match is the most important. We have put behind the previous match against Al Rayyan and are preparing for the points against Al Markhiya.
“Al Markhiya have distinguished players and it is a difficult team that presents good levels with coach Abdullah Mubarak, and we hope that the result will be in our favour and better than the last match.
“The league lead in the first rounds does not mean anything to any team, because all teams are close, winning now and leading, and tomorrow they lose and fall back in the standings.
“The championship is still at the beginning and it is difficult to talk about the lead now,” said Younes.
Al Arabi player Abdullah Al Sulaiti said, “We will face a strong opponent who has presented good levels in the previous matches, but we aspire to reap the points and appear in a manner befitting the Al Arabi club.
“It is important for us to accumulate the largest number of points in order to continue the strong performances, and we seek to win over Al Markhiya.
“The victory over Al Rayyan in the last round was not easy, but the most important thing was the three points, and what we aspire to during the Al Markhiya meeting is to reap the points, appear better and continue the strong performances.”
