Al Khor coach Winfried Schafer spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Ahli.

“We need to win and get the three points. All matches are difficult for us and we will find the right formation to beat Al Ahli. Certainly, the opponents are a good team, but we will fight to win this match. Everyone worked well and I am confident that we can get the three points.

“Regarding the joining of Brazilian striker Kayke (Rodriguez), I would say Kayke is an excellent player and he will be a strong addition to the team.

“The Ooredoo Cup matches for us were a preparation for the league matches and we must correct our mistakes so as not to suffer losses and we must create a lot of chances.

“Our players are ready for this match and they have the mentality of winning all matches. We do not play for a draw, but rather to win three points,” said Schafer.

Al Khor player Jasser Yahya said, “We have had a lot of changes in our ranks and it is natural that the beginning will be difficult, but we can see the development round after round. We will avoid mistakes and reap full points.

“Al Ahli are a strong team and we have worked well with our technical staff so that we can identify the opponents’ weaknesses. The team is ready and we are thirsty for victory that we have not achieved so far. The priority is to win and collect the three points from the Al Ahli match.”
