Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 8 match against Qatar SC.

“The team will enter the match with great ambition to achieve a positive result and continue our journey to improve position in the standings.

“The match against Qatar SC will be tough and difficult for both sides. The opposing team has distinguished players and a highly-qualified coach, but we have a strong desire within the group to secure the three points.

“Playing in the QSL Cup was extremely beneficial for the team. QSL Cup matches gave us a great opportunity to prepare the players physically and mentally, and also helped us correct some tactical aspects. We are competing seriously in the tournament because we believe in our ability to reach the final. The team has succeeded in winning the title before and our goal now is to repeat that achievement,” said Carteron.

Umm Salal player Rami Suhail said, “We prepared well for the match and all the players have a great desire to achieve victory against Qatar SC. We enter the match with a high fighting spirit and great confidence in our ability to secure points.

“The QSL Cup matches helped us greatly in raising the level of harmony among the players and were excellent preparation for the league competitions. Our goal now is to translate the work we have done on the field.”
