Al Sadd lost 1-3 to Al Arabi in Week 8 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Saturday.

Al Arabi came back from a 39th-minute opener by Akram Afif to secure the maximum points, with goals from Michael Olunga (43rd minute), Ahmed Suhail (45th minute, own goal) and Rodri Sanchez (80th minute) propelling them to the vital win.
Afif opened the scoring for Al Sadd with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box, following a fast break, after connecting well with a through ball by Guilherme, but Al Arabi gave a perfect response four minutes later through Olunga, who nodded home from the centre of the box after a sublime cross from Rodri Sanchez.

Fortune changed in favour of Al Arabi two minutes later when Al Sadd’s Suhail turned the ball into his own net in an attempt to clear a cross from Mohammed Khaled.

With tension building, things turned for the worse for Al Sadd as they were reduced to 10 men just before half-time after Paulo Otavio was given the marching orders for violent conduct.

Sanchez made it three for Al Arabi late into the game from a rebound off substitute Salem Reda’s well-fired shot that hit the upright.
