Umm Salal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 17 match against Qatar SC.

“There is no doubt that every team strives to win and this is what we take into consideration because Qatar SC are one of the strong and organized teams, and we worked for the game with utmost importance because it is a big match against a respected team.

“I know Qatar SC are good and their results do not reflect their excellent performance. We underwent strong training and all players were in full concentration in order to achieve satisfactory results in view of the hectic schedule.

“The break was a good opportunity to get some rest for the players because of the pressure of successive matches. It was also an opportunity for the players and technical staff to correct mistakes, so that we can finish the season in a good position.

“We are ready to face Qatar SC and every player takes into account the great importance of the matches, especially since the upcoming rounds will of course be difficult for all teams because each team seeks to improve its position in the table. From here, all matches will be difficult for the teams and we hope to continue our good form. Our players are noted for their spirit, enthusiasm and desire to continue what they have provided over the past period and I have great confidence in our players. Our goal is always to win matches and provide a level and performance worthy of Umm Salal,” said Wesam.

Umm Salal player Ali Al Yazidi said, “Each player is well aware of the importance of the match and the necessity of winning to continue the series of victories.

“We underwent strong training over the past period and high concentration is a characteristic of our players. Every player knows the importance of the upcoming games and therefore we will make every effort to achieve the desired goal.”
