Qatari Wesam Rizik of Umm Salal has been named as the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League’s Best Coach for the months of December, 2021, & January, 2022, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the Qatar Stars League.

Under Wesam who succeeded Brazilian Sergio Farias, Umm Salal played seven matches (Weeks 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16). The Orange Fortress won five of them, drew one and lost one to collect 16 points.

Umm Salal bt Al Rayyan 3-2

Umm Salal drew 1-1 with Al Khor

Umm Salal lost 1-2 to Al Ahli

During the period, Umm Salal scored 18 goals while conceding seven and they had 36 shots on target. Wesam’s wards are now a creditable fifth in the QNB Stars League table with 25 points after 16 rounds of action.

Wesam is one of the young and promising Qatari coaches, and a former star of the Qatar national team who played for several clubs, including Qatar SC, Al Sadd and Al Khor.
