Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 11 match against Al Duhail.

“The important victory we recorded in the last round against Al Sailiya will motivate us to provide the best against Al Duhail. At the same time, we will work to make the team technically much better on the field.

“Al Duhail are a strong team and contenders to win the league this season due to their performance, level and great capabilities, but Al Ahli will remain eager to provide the best and compete for points on the field.

“We have a group of dedicated players who will give off their best on the field. We play with the available players and do not look at the missing players,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli goalkeeper Yazan Naim said, “Al Duhail are a strong team and contenders for the title every season even though they are not at their usual form presently.

“We are also not at our level. We achieved an important victory in the last round against Al Sailiya and now the competition in the league is in the stage of scoring goals and achieving victories, which is important. That we are coming off a win will give the team an incentive to provide the best in the match and compete for points.

“Al Duhail have outstanding players and their loss against Umm Salal does not mean that beating them is easy. We will be fully focused on facing them on the field with the aim of achieving the desired result, which is winning.”
