Al Wakrah coach Ali Rahma Al Marri spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 6 match against Al Khor.

“The superiority of the Al Wakrah team in the last match over Al Rayyan is due to the players after the great effort made by everyone, as the coach’s instructions alone are not enough to achieve victories and the players must fight on the field.

“Al Khor are a strong team and have a distinguished coach, and this season there is no weak team in the league and all teams have great capabilities and distinguished players, and focus, determination and desire are the things that help any team achieve victories.

“We had some bad results and when you win after that against a popular team like Al Rayyan, this is a good thing, but then you clash with a strong team as well and you need to achieve victory and we must forget the last victory because this is a league match and not a cup match,” said Al Marri.

Al Wakrah player Ayoub Assal said, “The preparation period before the Al Khor match was very short, considering that we had only one training session after the Al Rayyan match, but this does not prevent us from confirming that we are fully prepared for this match.

“There is a clear improvement in the team and we hope that the development will continue during the coming period because we are looking for the best in all matches, especially since we have a good team and I confirm our insistence on collecting the three points during the important Al Khor match.”
