Qatar SC defeated Umm Salal 2-1 in Week 17 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Friday.

Sebastian Soria (11th minute and 39th-minute penalty) scored the goals for Qatar SC.

The penalty was awarded when Umm Salal defender Ayman Abdennour fouled Bashar Resan.

Isael Barbosa pulled one back for Umm Salal in the 88th minute.

The Kings now have 19 points (five victories, four draws and seven defeats) with a game in hand.

The Kings’ Week 13 match against reigning champions Al Sadd was postponed.

Umm Salal remained on 25 points after enduring their fourth defeat.


Umm Salal went into the match in good form. They were back on the winning path with their 3-1 victory over Al Gharafa in Week 15 and built on it by handing Al Shamal a 6-0 defeat in Week 16.

However, The Orange Fortress could not repeat that form and found themselves at the receiving end.


Qatar SC were without injured their first-choice goalkeeper Jassim Al Hail. His replacement Motasem Majed rose to the occasion and kept a clean sheet.

Motasem came up with a superb save off a shot from the right by Ismail Dahqani later on.

Isael Barbosa reduced the margin for Umm Salal in the 88th minute, but it was too late an effort.

Umm Salal and Qatar SC were locked in a 2-2 draw in the first leg.
