Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Duhail.
“I thank the players for their great efforts against Al Shamal. (Javi) Martinez’s return from an injury layoff was good in addition to the presence of the rest of the team members such as Sebastian Soria and Badr Bannon, be they experienced or young. There is no doubt that the team has great harmony, which is positively reflected on the pitch.
“Our next match (against Al Duhail) is a top drawer in Week 6, especially since our matches are always noted for their strength. In general, the preparations were very good and we strive to achieve a positive result that makes us happy and our loyal fans rejoice.
“Injuries are normal and we hope that our ranks will be complete against Al Duhail,” said Safri.
Qatar SC player Javi Martinez said, “I played well against Al Shamal, knowing that it was not easy to return with a high rhythm and level after the injury, but I received the necessary rehabilitation until I was ready to play a full match and this is what happened.
“We will play an important match against Al Duhail. In general, all matches are important for us, but when we face big teams we will need more momentum and must prove ourselves, especially since this type of match requires us to be at the highest levels of concentration. We must play it like a final and hold ourselves accountable.”
