Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 5 match against Al Rayyan.

“We need to win in order to move on to the best path. The comparison between Al Ahli in the last two seasons seems different in everything. Except for the numbers, we are not satisfied with the team’s results in the current season, which are not satisfactory for everyone in the Al Ahli management, players, technical staff and fans, and we must work for the best.

“Last season, we were good in terms of scoring goals, but in the current season, we have conceded more goals than we scored. We need to work more in attack.

“Al Rayyan are also in the same situation and need points in the match, which means that it will be tough encounter.

“I reiterate my confidence in the capabilities of our players, and hope we obtain points against Al Rayyan, especially since everyone feels dissatisfied with our results in the four rounds. There is no choice but to work for the best technical level and results, and then Al Ahli will be able to reap points,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli player Patrick Friday Eze said, “As a professional player and new striker in the team, I need to score goals. I do not feel pressure from outside the field and I consider myself as an addition to the team whose success means my success as a professional player.

“So, I look forward to scoring goals. Against Al Rayyan, I see that the opportunity exists for our first victory this season. Without scoring goals, we cannot achieve victory and I will do everything I can to score goals and help the team.”
