Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Al Sailiya.
“The Al Sailiya match in the ninth round of QNB Stars League is important and difficult. Therefore, we will go into it with great care and respect for the competitors and we hope to achieve victory. For a short period of time, we conceded goals due to poor concentration, in addition to the players’ injuries that affected the entire group.
“As for the match against Al Sailiya, we worked very hard this week. Frankly, I have great confidence in the players and their ability to achieve the desired results, although we need to improve in all departments of the game.
“Our last match against Al Duhail proved our ability to compete with any team in the league, provided we maintain focus and attention to details through which we can produce positive results. The difference in points is not that big between a number of teams in the middle of the standings and the last positions, and any result can change the team’s position.
“Facing Al Sailiya will be difficult for both teams because Al Sailiya also had a difficult start, but for us the difficulty lies in the injuries to important players and the lack of focus cost us important points. But it is an opportunity for young players and they deserve it and I expect a positive reaction from them,” said Youssef.
Qatar SC player Abdulrahman Al Jassim said, “We realize that it will be a difficult match and our ambition is to win since our preparations took place in a positive atmosphere and great enthusiasm to compensate after losing our previous match against Al Duhail, in which we performed well. But unfortunately, we were not lucky and now we look forward to a positive outcome before the break.
“Al Sailiya are an organized team, but our focus will be on this match. I thank our loyal fans for their keenness to support us always and we promise them that we will make amends.”
