Al Markhiya coach Madjid Bougherra spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 6 match against Al Shamal.

“I thank the club president for his confidence in me. I had a very good feeling when we talked. Everyone in the club is one family and this was important for me to choose my destination and accept this mission. We, technical staff, and players began working hard to achieve the team’s first goal which is to remain in the First Division. This goal is a priority for everyone.

“Taking on such a challenge is what creates experience and character for me as a coach. It is a difficult challenge and I trust this club. I trust all players and we will work step by step in order to achieve this goal.

“This is my first match with the team. We will focus on not losing points and getting them in full. We know that the match is difficult. Al Shamal are fighting like us to get out of the dangerous zone in the league standings and we, in turn, are preparing well. We have an elite team with distinguished players,” said Bougherra.

Al Markhiya player Driss Fettouhi said, “As players, we are happy with the arrival of the new coach. Our preparations for the next match against Al Shamal are going on very well in a positive atmosphere.

“The team wants a real start with this match and seeks to stop the bad run. Everyone is aware of his role in the match and we hope to be fully prepared, provide the best performance and implement the coach’s instructions on the field.”
