Al Ahli coach Pedro Miguel spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 17 match against Qatar SC.

“We will face strong competitors who will make the match strong and competitive, but we will be more keen to score victory and obtain points, especially since the team’s need to win has become very necessary in view of the race to obtain points between all clubs.

“Considering the circumstances we are currently going through, including absences due to injuries, it has become necessary to play intelligently and be careful not to lose any point to any competitors. As coach, I must focus on preparations. We had players who could achieve victory and obtain the required points, but at the same time that absences continues due to injuries, but in football one must deal with the situations,” said Pedro Miguel.

Al Ahli player Islam Al Sharif said, “There’s a necessity to win against Qatar SC and the rest of the matches that will follow in order to advance in the standings and avoid any surprises that might push the team to decline in the table.

“We are going through difficult circumstances, but as players we will fight in the remaining rounds of the league. We realize that there is no easy match and all matches are difficult, but we will make every effort to achieve victories, obtain points and improve the team’s position.

“The team’s current position does not satisfy us, but we will play for the best results and believe that Al Ahli are capable of providing the best in the next stage despite the circumstances the team is going through due to the absence of important players in our ranks.”
