Both sides were locked 2-2 for entire second half and until 90+4 minute when substitute Tahsin Mohammed scored from a rebound off the left post from a Krzysztof Piatek kick, after goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham had cut off an initial strike, to seal a valuable victory for The Red Knights.

The result took Al Duhail’s tally to 12 points, the same as that of Al Sadd.

Earlier, Jean-Charles Castelletto (ninth minute) and Sultan Al Breik (28th minute) had given Al Duhail a 2-0 lead, but The Wolves hit back with goals from Giovani Henrique (32nd minute) and Yusuf Abdurisag (45+4 minute).

The second half was fiercely contested and saw both sides come close but not find a finish.

The game seemed headed for a stalemate, but for Al Sadd’s sloppy defence in the end and the alertness of Tahsin.
