Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 6 match against Al Sadd.

“The match against Al Sadd is, without a doubt, a derby, always intense and highly competitive. We have prepared well and put in the necessary work. Given the tight schedule between our recent fixtures, we have placed a strong focus on recovery.

“The positive results we have achieved lately will certainly boost the players’ self-confidence and drive them to push for even more in the matches ahead,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail player Marco Verratti said, “It will be a great match against Al Sadd, we know our opponents well and we must prepare thoroughly to ensure we are fully ready.

“Between two big teams, the match will likely be decided by fine margins, that is something everyone understands. We are facing a side with great capabilities, so we need to remain completely focused. We, too, have a lot to offer.”
