Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Al Wakrah.

“A very difficult match awaits us against Al Wakrah and we are going through not good moments. Of course, this was not one of our goals in the championship. Our goal was to compete for the championship and appear in a different way. Al Wakrah are a very special team and show their strength as they are in third place in the standings.

“I am not looking for excuses, the team makes big mistakes and they cause us to lose points, not only in the previous match, but in many matches.

“We know that Al Wakrah are one of the best teams in the league and have outstanding players and they have a striking attack, and we must be very careful about this attack,” said Castro.

Al Duhail player Rabeh Yahya said, “We are preparing for the Al Wakrah match like any match in the league and we are training in the same way we prepare for the previous games. The match is very important and we will work hard to achieve victory.

“The team is not in its best condition as we are going through a difficult stage and we have absences and constant change in the lineup. These conditions are affecting any team, but thank God we are in second place, although it is not the position we are looking for.

“We have no choice but to win against Al Wakrah, who beat us in the first leg. But this time, we will come back strong and beat them.”
