Umm Salal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Al Shamal.

“We are waiting for an important match against Al Shamal, especially since it is a difficult match, because the competitor presents a good level and seeks the same goal that we are thinking of. We are seeking to continue the results achieved by the team in the recent period and the good level as well, and this comes through spirit and enthusiasm.

“As usual, we are ready and certainly aspire to win the three points. We have to realize and study the opponents and trust our abilities, and we can get a positive result.

“I think that Al Shamal will enter the match strongly, but we have to show our true level on the field. Of course the game will be difficult and we will not waste the match points, and I am completely confident in the capabilities of my team,” said Wesam.

Umm Salal player Elias Hamid said, “We are ready to face Al Shamal and we know very well that it is a strong team and offers a high performance, but we will not waste the opportunity to continue victories in view of the great motivation experienced by the team, especially since the victory in the last round gave us a great morale boost.

“We know perfectly well the strength of Al Shamal and their desire to win, as they are a surprising and combative team. We have previously faced off many times, but let’s start again in order to reach our goal by obtaining the three points.”
