Al Sadd face Al Arabi in the Qatar Derby in Week 22 (final round) of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Sadd Stadium on Monday, May 8, 2023. The kick-off is at 19:00.

Reigning champions Al Sadd are third with 44 points and seek to beat Al Arabi to finish as runners-up. The Wolves had beaten Al Duhail in the last round (Week 21).

On the other hand, if Al Arabi beat Al Sadd and Al Duhail drop points against Al Shamal, Al Arabi will emerge as the new champions.

Al Duhail and Al Arabi are on 48 ad 46 points respectively.

Al Sadd and Al Arabi have faced off twice this season and the former won on both occasions.

Al Sadd won by a 2-0 margin in the first leg of QNB Stars League and 3-1 in Qatar Cup 2023 semifinals.

The Al Sadd ranks include the likes of Baghdad Bounedjah, Akram Afif, Santi Cazorla and Hassan Al Haydous.

Al Arabi will rely more on the brilliance of Syrian striker Omar Al Somah, who scored a hat-trick for them against Al Gharafa in the last match, in addition to Yousef Msakni, Aron Gunnarsson, Helal Mohammed and Hamed Ismail.

The match will also feature the tactical battle between coaches Juan Manuel Lillo (Juanma) of Al Sadd and Younes Ali of Al Arabi.
