The 2021-2022 season Ooredoo Cup Round 9 Group B match between Al Sailiya and Al Gharafa, which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 8th December, 2021, was not played as Al Gharafa players refused to play after their goalkeeper Ahmed Sofyan fell ill during warm-up  following which he was shifted to hospital for tests.

The referee blew the final whistle after he waited for 15 minutes for Al Gharafa players to take the field.

It may be noted that the matter will be referred to the Competition and Disciplinary Committees for appropriate action in accordance with the regulations.

The Qatar Stars League wishes the goalkeeper a speedy recovery and fast return to the game.
