Al Duhail coach Hernan Crespo spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Rayyan.

“We will face a great team despite them losing in the first and second rounds, but I know exactly that coach Cordova is working intensively and strongly to get out of this stage and he has players with very distinguished levels who perform strongly on the field.

“Al Rayyan are a very dangerous team, but on the other hand, Al Duhail are ready for this game and to deal with all the possibilities that can arise on the field.

“We have to focus properly on the field and work to control the ball and I know that the win will come and the loss of points in the previous games was due to bad luck, but we are on the right path and we must continue to work hard.
“I am very happy with the brilliance of our goalkeeper Shehab Ellethi in our match against Al Ahli and his appearance in a distinctive way, but his brilliance does not mean that our line of defence did not appear as required. Along with player Yousef Ayman, they succeeded in appearing at a good technical and physical levels,” said Crespo.

Al Duhail player Michael Olunga said, “This is a very important match for us. We stumbled in the previous matches. This does not mean that the team is far from its level. It is all a matter of time, which is what the team needs to return to achieve victories again.

“We are working in full swing and with great focus to implement all the directives of the technical staff and carry out all physical and tactical exercises, which fully demonstrates that everyone is working hard for the team to appear as required and achieve the desired results.”
