Al Shamal face Al Duhail in Week 7 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Al Bayt Stadium. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Al Duhail are currently placed fifth with 10 points, behind Al Rayyan (15 points), Al Sadd, Al Gharafa (both 13 points) and Al Wakrah (11 points) in that order.

The Red Knights won three matches, drew one and lost one, and have a game in hand postponed from Week 6.

Al Duhail will be playing for the first time under French coach Christophe Galtier, who succeeded Argentinian Hernan Crespo.

Galtier realizes that victory over Al Shamal is necessary and he has a number of prominent stars in the side, such as Brazilian Philippe Coutinho, Almoez Ali, Michael Olunga, Karim Boudiaf, Ibrahima Kader Bamba, Kim Moon-Hwan and Ruben Semedo.

However, it may not be as easy for Al Duhail against Al Shamal, who lost 1-2 to Al Markhiya in Week 7.

Al Shamal have good players in defence and attack, such as Matias Nani and Ricardo Gomez, and they could have beaten Al Markhiya had they not missed the opportunities that came their way.

Al Shamal coach Poya Asbhagi hopes that the team will continue its strong performances, but it is certain that the most important thing for them is the results as they are the only team yet to register a victory so far in the league this season.

Al Shamal are placed 10th with three points, the same as Al Ahli and Al Markhiya, who are in the last two places, so they will be eager to get a positive result against Al Duhail.
