Al Sadd’s Boualem Khoukhi has been ruled out of their Qatar Clasico against Al Rayyan on 8th February as he is nursing a muscle tear on his left foot, sustained during their 3-1 win over Qatar SC in Week 15 of the QNB Stars League.

A medical examination confirmed Khoukhi’s injury and he has to undergo rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

Al Sadd are preparing for the Qatar Clasico, scheduled at the Al Sadd Stadium on Thursday.

The players, including Akram Afif who has just been signed from Spanish club Villarreal till the end of this season, were put through their paces on Sunday evening by Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira.

Those who practised also consisted of Salem Al Hajri, who is back after representing Qatar at the recent Asian Under-23 Championship in China.

Meanwhile, left-back Abdelkarim Hassan too underwent a medical check-up as he left the field injured during their match against Qatar SC last week.

Al Sadd have 37 points, two less than leaders Al Duhail and as many more than third-placed Al Rayyan.
