Umm Salal player Murad Naji spoke to QSL Website on the 2019-20 season Media Day organised by the Qatar Stars League for QNB Stars League players.

“Playing for Umm Salal is a new challenge even though I had represented them in one season (2014-15). I like new challenges and I set new goals. This season is vital for me for many reasons.

“I switched from a team like Al Duhail and after winning almost all trophies in Qatar. We had a great time together at Al Duhail for quite some time.

“Now, it’s a great opportunity for me to help Umm Salal. I’ve assisted many teams and many teams have, in turn, assisted me in my career. I’m keen to give my best to Umm Salal. It’s a good team, both individually and collectively.

“The team composition is good and we’ve some outstanding players. As you might’ve noticed, we were more dangerous in our last game against Al Rayyan, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

“Now, we very much look forward to our next game against Al Khor as it’ll be a good opportunity for us to bag full points. We take it step by step.

“Personally, my main goal is to get back into the Qatar national team. I’m fighting for it. That gives me extra motivation. 

“As a player personally, I have my own style of playing. I like to give assists for goals by moving forward from my right-back position,” said Murad.
