Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Khor.
“We have changed 80 per cent of the players. We have built a new team because we really need this. We are looking for the type of players who want to challenge because the players who spend a long time in the club do not have motivation, so we must change. Hopefully, we will achieve our target.
“The game will be strong against Al Khor. I told players that we must forget the past and think about the present and future. Al Khor are a good team and I believe Umm Salal have good players now.
“It is time we made a strong comeback. I am completely confident about the future.
“We brought Walid Masloub, a playmaker from Algeria, because he is a player with experience. It was necessary to focus on players who have experience.
“All professional players who joined Umm Salal in the winter transfer period were chosen by the club management.
“I know we did not play well in the last game against Al Rayyan, but what happened has happened and we have only one option, which is to fight and think only about the next match against Al Khor,” said Ben Askar.
