Al Gharafa’s Ja-Cheol Koo spoke to QSL Website on the 2019-20 season Media Day organised by the Qatar Stars League for QNB Stars League players.

“I find it very exciting and challenging playing in the QNB Stars League, after playing in Germany for nine long years. I was motivated to move to Qatar mainly because this country is going to host the next FIFA World Cup in 2022. I’m happy to hear that the preparations for the big event is going on well. The facilities and infrastructure are just outstanding.

“For me, football is same everywhere. I want to do well with the teams that I play. I have to work hard every day and I want to play to win every match.

“I’m also happy to be playing in Al Gharafa. We’ve quality and stability in  the team. We can make good results this season provided we work very hard and play to our potential. I just feel excited to play in Qatar.

“We’re happy that we won our first match, against Al Shahania. First matches are always hard for every team, for many reasons. Mainly because it’s different from pre-season friendlies.

“I always give my 100 per cent. If we push ourselves in training and give our best in matches, we can make it really big,” said Koo.
