The 2019-20 season QNB Stars League has been witnessing many stars, who are playing influential roles for their clubs.

Aron Gunnarsson of Al Arabi is one such outstanding player. He has been making his presence felt after joining The Dream Team at the start of this season and just three weeks into the QNB Stars League.

The Iceland national team captain plays a pivotal role in the Al Arabi midfield and has already scored two goals as Al Arabi are on top of the standings with seven points. They are tied with Al Gharafa on points, but have better goal difference.

Gunnarsson has complemented his team-mates Hamdi Harbaoui (three goals) and Pierre-Michel Lasogga (two goals) as well.

Gunnarson is known for his fighting spirit on the field and giving accurate passes to team-mates, in addition to his scoring abilities. He scored in Al Arabi’s 1-1 draw with Al Duhail in Week 2 and also in their 5-1 victory over Umm Salal in Week 3.

The 30-year-old has had successful stints in England with Coventry City and Cardiff City.

He has been captaining Iceland since 2012, earning more than 80 caps thus far.

Al Arabi signed him from Cardiff City for two seasons with the possibility of a third.
