The 2018-19 season QNB Stars League’s Week 4 offers keen contests. The fixtures are Al Sailiya vs Al Khor (17:10) and Al Ahli vs Al Gharafa (19:20) at the Khalifa International Stadium on Friday, 31st August, Al Rayyan vs Al Kharaitiyat (17:10) and Al Arabi vs Umm Salal (19:20) at the Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday, 1st September, and Al Sadd vs Al Shahania (17:10) and Qatar SC vs Al Duhail (19:20) at the Khalifa International Stadium on Sunday, 2nd September.

The Week 3 action saw big guns Al Sadd and Al Duhail both drop points after being held by Al Gharafa (1-1) and Al Rayyan (0-0) respectively.

Al Sadd continued to top the standings ahead of Al Duhail on goal difference, both teams having seven points. The Wolves have a goal difference of +15 compared to The Red Knights’ +9.

Naturally, Al Sadd and Al Duhail will definitely look to be back on the winning path.

Al Sadd should have it easy against promoted side Al Shahania, who did well to hold Al Khor to a 1-1 draw to be on four points. In the process, they also jumped to the eighth position in standings.

Al Duhail face the challenge from Qatar SC, who will be looking to come back into the tournament after losing their last two matches that followed their opening-round victory over Al Gharafa. The Kings had lost 0-2 to Al Sailiya.

Meanwhile, both Al Sadd and Al Duhail won their first legs in the AFC Champions League quarterfinals against Iranian sides. Al Sadd defeated Esteghlal 3-1 away, while Al Duhail beat Persepolis 1-0 at home.

Al Sailiya should be looking to maintain the momentum when they face Al Khor who are 11th with just a point they collected in Week 3 against Al Shahania.

Al Rayyan will badly want to bounce back into the top four. The Lions had slipped to fifth after the third round following their draw with Al Duhail.

It is against this backdrop that they take on Al Kharaitiyat, the only team yet to open their account and have lost all their games.

Al Arabi, who climbed to fourth with six points after beating Al Kharaitiyat 1-0 in the previous round, run into Umm Salal, who are sixth with four points.

The Al Ahli vs Al Gharafa and Al Arabi vs Umm Salal encounters are sure to hog the limelight most.

The air-conditioned Khalifa International Stadium and Al Sadd Stadium will once again host the matches, making it comfortable for players and spectators alike.
