Al Ahli coach Ruben de la Barrera spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Umm Salal.

“This match is worth six points and not just three points. It is very important for us, just as it is important for Umm Salal. So the game is undoubtedly difficult because both sides are trying to win.

“I think Al Ahli’s performance has improved. Last season, we struggled when we faced big teams such as Al Duhail and Al Sadd. We made many changes and it takes time to reap the rewards. So far, our results are good. We’re seeking the best results.

“We performed well against Al Sadd even though we lost the game 1-2. If we display the same form against other teams, we will have many positive results in future,” said Barrera.
